“ A lovely meal out with friends for Xmas. Turkey dinner and cheesecake for dessert very nice! Fantastically decorated for the season seems to have more every year! A bit like Santa's grotto has you walk in. Very busy, and some staff seemed a little stressed but can't complain about anything. ”
“ Could not fault it, the service was brilliant, friendly and attentive and the food was lovely. We went on a Sunday evening and had roast dinners. All cooked beautifully. The desserts were amazing and presented very well. We will definitely return. ”
“ Came here for a nice dinner on a weekday evening and was not disappointed. Food was delicious and the staff were really welcoming! On another note I adored the pub interior, has a historic feel to it but was so cosy and the candles in the middle of the table just add such a personal touch. Absolute class! ”
“ This pub is one of our favourites we try and visit everytime we are in the UK absolutely great service, food and atmosphere. The Christmas decorations are wonderful ”
“ Lovely food and most staff are very friendly and pleasant to be around. We had several different options for dinner, and everyone was very happy with the choices. They had good gluten-free options. I had beef dinner and even got a gluten-free Yorkshire pudding, which was lovely. My son had a burger and I've got to say it was well worth it he was very pleased. It's definitely worth going ”
“ We went as a table of 8 to celebrate mine and my fiance's upcoming wedding. The food was absolutely delicious, with good sized portions and reasonably priced for the quality. The atmosphere was good, with the warm, rustic feel of the pub really adding to the ambience. The service was quick, despite how busy it was, with regular check backs and the head of front of house being especially impressive. He was incredibly personable, funny and caring. The food was fantastic but it was the service that made us feel as though we had to come back again ”
“ Best place I’ve been! We went for a date and it was amazing. Someone cancelled so they got us in earlier than we booked, but would highly recommend booking! Because it is so good I doubt there are going to be many days that they are not at full capacity! The vibe is stunning, very cottage core, old cottage, witchy vibe (just my thing!). Mark the manager served us and was absolutely lovely, all the staff are so kind and make the meal even more wonderful. The outside area is a beauty! We have already planned our next two visits and what we are going to order as the whole menu looks amazing! Everything is cooked in house, ensuring everything that it is all fresh and full of flavour! Highly recommend the duck cakes starter and spring rolls, best starters ever had! ”
“ It’s really important to book a table to avoid disappointment. The staff are friendly & made our dogs very welcome too, water & a treat! It was lovely, cool inside & welcoming on a very hot sunny day. The food is amazing we enjoyed the Turkey Sunday roast, my friend had an Eton mess dessert (sundae) & I enjoyed the Bakewell pudding with cherry swirl ice cream, delicious . Also love the traditional charm of the historic building. We highly recommend a visit.... ”
